When it comes to pool fencing solutions, especially those located in front yards, finding the right balance between privacy, style, and functionality is crucial.
Pool fence installation.
New aluminium pool fence installation. When style and privacy are paramount.
When privacy and style are a top priority for a pool, like the one in the front yard of this Northern Beaches home, the right fence, with a thoughtful design, can make all the difference.
We installed a stunning aluminium slat fence around this Forestville property’s pool, achieving a perfect balance of privacy, aesthetics, and durability. In contrast to glass pool fencing, which offers no privacy, this aluminium solution was ideal for the client’s needs.
Note: This style of pool fencing is often called aluminium batten fence or vertical blade fence.
Ample privacy. Modern design.
The pool was located in the front yard, making privacy a priority for the owners. An aluminium slat fence was the perfect solution, offering the desired privacy while seamlessly complementing the house’s modern design. We chose vertical slats with small gaps between, offering added privacy from the neighbours or passersby to see into the pool area.
Added privacy with the addition of composite board.
At the bottom of the fence, we incorporated a composite board (also known as eco wood or mod wood). This eco-friendly material is both durable and visually appealing, adding extra privacy as it’s completely opaque. The composite board was painted to match the dark grey aluminium slats, creating a cohesive look.
Composite board is an excellent addition due to its longevity and low maintenance. It is resistant to weathering, warping, and termites, making it a perfect choice for outdoor use. Unlike timber, it doesn’t require regular staining or painting, ensuring it will maintain its appearance for many years to come.
The benefits of aluminium slat fences.
Traditional fencing methods, like the cap and lap style, are commonly used by traditional fence builders. These fences are constructed using treated pine planks that overlap slightly, with a horizontal cap for added stability. While functional, cap and lap fences require ongoing maintenance and don’t offer the modern, sleek appearance of aluminium slat fences.
Aluminium slat fences, on the other hand, are typically installed by carpenters and builders. They are highly versatile and can be custom-designed to fit virtually any shape or layout. They’re also low-maintenance, as the powder-coated finish eliminates the need for repainting and protects the material from rust and corrosion.
Pool fencing compliance.
To comply with Australian pool safety regulations, the aluminium slat fence at this property was built to a height of 1.8 metres. This ensures the pool area is both secure and private.
Additionally, we constructed a screened area around the pool filter and equipment, complete with a matching gate for easy access.
A timeless, long-lasting solution.
This project demonstrates the flexibility and durability that aluminium slat fences when it comes to a timeless, long-lasting pool fencing solution.
Aluminium fences can be designed to suit any height, whether shorter for decorative purposes or taller to improve privacy and security. With virtually no ongoing maintenance required, these fences are an investment in both functionality and aesthetics that will stand the test of time.
The composite board addition is a standout feature, offering not only extra privacy but also the peace of mind that comes with using a sustainable, long-lasting material.
